Prof. Sinnott gave a recent talk at a Heath Informatics Society of Australia event at the University of Melbourne focused on Supporting Statistically Significant Clinical Research. Key take home messages where how global research could be influenced and measured by establishing a critical mass of deeply phenotyped data. The example of ENSAT-CANCER was shown and the global impact of research publications in the field of adrenal tumours that has arisen since the registry was developed. The analysis of the data was undertaken by PhD candidate Stephan Gloeckner and the ENSAT-CANCER systems by Anthony Stell. As one example the impact factor of all publications pre-ENSAT and post-ENSAT were shown. This includes publications such as Nature, New England Journal of Medicine amongst many others.
