Two invited talks in one day…

Prof. Sinnott gave a talk at the launch of the new hybrid cluster (Spartan) at the University of Melbourne. (Noting that 123 Masters students already gave this a thorough work out in Cluster and Cloud Computing! It gets a big thumbs up!!!) The event was very successful and congrats to the Research Services team (Bernard Meade and Steve Giugni especially) for organising the launch. Later in the day, Prof. Sinnott gave a talk on Clinical Research Platforms at an eHealth seminar organised by Assoc. Prof. Kathleen Gray with live demonstrations of several national and international research platforms developed by the Melbourne eResearch Group. This included the International Niemann-Pick Disease Registry (www.inpdr.org) and the Australian Diabetes Data Network (www.addn.org.au). These reflect two of the many flavours of IT solutions (architectural design patterns) that are used when developing disease registries.
