Prof Sinnott gave a keynote presentation and two paper talks at the 10th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Utility and Cloud Computing (UCC 2017) in Austin, Texas in December 2017. The keynote talk “Cloud Trek: The Next Generation” covered the lessons learned over the past 20 years in educating future e-Research software engineers and the evolving technology base. The paper talks covered “A CropWater Stress Monitoring System Utilising a Hybrid e-Infrastructure” based on the work of former Masters students Gaojie Sun and Hongzhen Xie, and “A Big Data Architecture for Near Real-time Traffic Analytics” based on the work of current PhD candidate Yikai Gong.
