Congratulations to Yikai Gong (PhD candidate) in MeG for his recent (=today!) confirmation of his first year PhD candidature. His topic is “Real-time Monitoring of Traffic through Big Data Analytics of the Cloud”. Combining social media data sets (Twitter) and other data to get real time and hopefully adaptive solutions that optimally use the Cloud for intelligent traffic monitoring and congestion avoidance. Next challenge is to find a way to improve my commute home… ;o)
